OUR QUALIFICATIONS: The founder of "Protect Yourself Now" is Gary Williams. Following his military service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war, Gary worked a number of years in law enforcement, including assignment to SWAT, and later spent several years as an insurance investigator and licensed Security Consultant.
In addition, Gary Williams is a Bible-believing Christian who understands that God must be first in his life, to ultimately be successful at anything; and that without the enabling power of God, he is totally impotent to protect himself, his family, or anyone else. Gary further understands, that it is totally Christian to help equip others to protect themselves against oppressive and criminal behavior and attacks directed toward them and their loved ones.
Self-defense is a God-ordained privilege and duty that is woven throughout the pages of the entire Bible. It is NOT noble, moral, ethical, or righteous to stand by and allow the weak and the oppressed to be victimized, brutalized and criminalized. Real Christians have always stood and fought for what is right, even until death. SO SHALL WE.
OUR ROLE: Over the years, Gary has experienced a growing concern over what is taking place in our society and how it effects the safety of our citizens. When you combine the growing trend of random acts of violence in schools, colleges, universities, the workplace, shopping malls; acts of terrorism including 911; the growing general attitude of lawlessness and disregard for authority; over-emphasis on the rights of the criminal and de-emphasis on the rights of the victim; all added to the efforts of certain politicians and political forces to continue to disarm our citizens; Gary understood that something needed to be done to help our citizens be prepared to defend our loved ones. Thus, "Protect Yourself Now" was born.
OUR STRATEGY: We strive to provide you the very finest self-defense products and training available, without compromise in quality, while being affordable for nearly anyone. In addition, it is our intention to give you the training necessary to teach you how to NOT MAKE YOURSELF VULNERABLE, while providing you with powerfully effective techniques TO PREPARE YOU to protect yourself when necessary.
Very Important Note: We DO NOT BELIEVE IN SPORT KARATE or other similar martial arts for the purpose of self-defense! These sports are just that. SPORTS. They are favorable for physical conditioning and discipline. BUT NOT TO SAVE YOUR LIFE FROM AN ATTACKER! What we teach is for the purpose of your SURVIVAL! However, even though our elite training is unsurpassed for survival on the street against an assailant, if you do not have the resolve to use life-saving techniques; it will not help you. Having the knowledge in your head will be of no benefit if you are not willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to survive. Therefore, mentally training yourself to develop an attitude of resolve that you will apply necessary force (whatever it takes) to protect yourself or your family, is equally as important as learning what to do.
